A Typical Day in our Nursery School
Free play – Floor puzzles, building blocks, memory games, theme of the week coloring.
Movement – Morning exercise, activities to warm up the mind and muscles. (Mirror the Leader: stretch, swing, shake and jog)
Art Project relating to the theme of the week.
Gym Time – Children play and interact in our indoor gym every day with riding cars, bicycles, tunnels and parachutes.
Circle Time – Calendar time, weather, flash cards, colors, numbers, songs and News of the day.
Delicious Kosher Hot Lunch
Story Time – Each day we read a book related to the Jewish calendar or our theme or author of the week.
Center Time in our Playroom – Children interact in our Science Center, Library Corner, Dramatic Play Center, Block and Building Corner and Art Center.
Outside Playground Time (Weather Permitting) – If the weather keeps us inside, the children will play in our indoor gym.
Review of the day – Goodbye songs and dismissal.
Music Teacher – Our music teacher comes to sing with the children while she plays the guitar and piano.
Dance Instructor – Our energetic dance teacher comes to teach movement including Yoga and Zumba.
Shabbat Service – Each Friday we have a lively Shabbat service with the Rabbi.
A Few of our Special Events
Sukkah Under the Stars – Dinner and Singing in the Sukkah with children, parents, teachers and the clergy.
Thanksgiving Feast – Dressed in their homemade costumes the children enjoy a feast with all the trimmings. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce and cake all supplied by a Glatt Kosher Caterer.
Chanukah – Parents and friends are welcome to join us as we celebrate Chanukah in our beautiful ballroom with a Kosher catered lunch and dancing to music supplied by a DJ.
Passover – The Matzah Factory comes to our school. A popular author of children’s books comes to school to read to the children and parents and bake matzah with them. In addition, we conduct a model Seder for the children.
Shavuot – The children are invited into the sanctuary to sing songs. Children and parents then enjoy a delicious dairy lunch.
