January was another exciting month at H2I Youth Group. Our new year started off with an awesome Paint Night program, in which an artist came in and taught our second through eighth graders how to paint a canvas masterpiece. After paining, we had a delicious dinner and a great piece of artwork to bring home with us! That night, our USYers took part in Iron Chef, where they whipped up culinary masterpieces using a variety of assorted ingredients. Later in the month, our younger groups took their hand at Iron Chef, and we all had a great time at Messy Game Night! Also in January, our 8-12 graders joined with teens from across NYC at Sababa Spring Kinnus, hosted at Kane Street Synagogue in Brooklyn. They all had a great time spending Shabbat with old and new friends.
Because of the Super Bowl and school vacations, February is always our quietest month at H2I. On February 12, our younger group will have a Krav Maga night, while our USYers will have a special program to welcome our 8th graders to our weekly USY meetings. After that, we’re off on Sunday nights until March, when we will finish the last third of our year strong!
