After a busy first two months of programming, H2I is excited for move into November, which promises to be an even more exciting month! We’ll start off by hosting METNY Regional Fall Kinnus, at which upwards of 300 high schools will join our community for the weekend, with parts of the program taking place at each of our three H2I shuls. Thank you in advance to all of you who have opened your home to the USYers to make this program a success—we hope you find it to be a rewarding experience!
After a jam-packed weekend with kinnus, our younger groups will be meeting on the night of Sunday, November 5 – with a “Slumber Party” for our 2nd-5th graders, and Couch Potato, a TV trivia contest, for our 6th-8th graders. The next week, on November 12, our younger groups will take part in a trip that is shaping up to be something innovating and exciting—more details should be available on our website by the time you’re reading this article. Our USYers will be reliving their childhood at our #TBT program, full of juice boxes, snacks, and childhood games and memories. On November 19, our younger groups will participate in a Thanksgiving social actions program to give back to those less fortunate, while our USYers will have their own “trip”—a scavenger hunt followed by a “Friendsgiving Dinner”—a new H2I tradition that we hope will stick for years to come. We’re off the next week for Thanksgiving, and then move to ICCJ for the winter months!
It’s never too late to join for the year, so if you know someone in grades 2-12 who might be interested, let them know about our award-winning program!
